Front Shock Absorbers Removal/Refitting - Skoda Octavia

Tutorial file: Step-by-step process of disassembly and assembly of the front struts of the Skoda Octavia.

  1. Lift the vehicle

2. Disassemble the front wheel

3. Unscrew the indicated screws of the bottom mount

4. Unscrew the indicated screws of the top mount

5. Install the spring compressor to unscrew upper retaining nuts

6. Replace all components with new ones

7. Tighten the top mounting nut to 60Nm

8. Decompress the spring

9. Fit the strut to car body

10. Fit the top mounting kit screws and tighten to 15Nm + 90º

11. Tighten the strut to steering knuckle to 75Nm + 90º

12. Fit the lower track control arm to steering knuckle to 100Nm

13. Attach stabilizer bar link to the strut and tighten it to 65Nm

14. Tighten steering knuckle mounting screw half-shaft to 200Nm + 180º

15. Fit the front wheel and tighten to 120Nm

16. Return the vehicle to the ground
