The Monroe brand, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, is one of the world’s most respected brands of ride control and suspension components for vehicles ranging from passenger cars to trucks, trailers, buses and agricultural equipment. Monroe products are manufactured and marketed by Tenneco, a leading global original equipment ride control supplier.
The new Monroe MAGNUM master catalogue (no. A6372) reflects the expansion of Tenneco’s MAGNUM and VAN-MAGNUM product coverage to approximately 1,000 common references. The MAGNUM product range features OE-quality replacement axle and cabin shocks and seat dampers, while VAN-MAGNUM shocks are available for a broad range of commercial vans and LCV applications.
The catalogue, also available in convenient “flipbook” format as well as interactive eCatalogue at www.monroecatalogue.eu, includes a variety of enhancements. A streamlined data structure helps speed reference and product lookup for truck axle shocks. In addition, detailed images of each Monroe MAGNUM cabin shock assist users in selecting the correct replacement product for a given cabin configuration.
The new catalogue also reflects the Monroe brand’s global graphics, building on the growing awareness and preference for Monroe products in many nations around the world.
“Our aggressive expansion of the Monroe MAGNUM and VAN-MAGNUM ranges extend the performance and durability benefits of these world-class products to an ever-growing segment of the commercial vehicle marketplace,” said Bruce Ronning, vice president and general manager, Tenneco Europe Aftermarket.
Monroe MAGNUM shock absorbers feature a three-stage compression valve that provides more consistent, high quality damping characteristics, which helps maximize contact between the tires and road surface. To prevent a common failure associated with some competing shocks, Monroe MAGNUM shocks also include a hydraulic lockout piston design that prevents over-extension of the shock. This can eliminate instances of mechanical breakage of the shock itself as well as associated damage to the vehicle’s air bellows.
Other key performance- and durability-enhancing features of Monroe MAGNUM shocks include:
Semi-synthetic, high temperature-resistant hydraulic fluid that resists foaming and degradation
Anti-wear coated piston ring for superior sealing performance and reliability
Super-high-strength, single-bonded bushing for extended service life and easier installation
Double-action valving system offers superior damping performance, which helps reduce premature wear to other chassis components
